The Catherine
Project

Community, Purpose, Compassion

Our annual conferences not only bring honor to God, “the creator of our destinies, who had destined us from the beginning of time,” but also in some way to give honor to Him through our outreach of giving back to our community.

Named after an amazing woman named Catherine whose heart towards giving knew no boundaries, The Catherine Project was created to honor her legacy and bring honor to God, “the author and finisher of our faith” who has destined us from the beginning of time.

Much of Catherine’s life was given in service to others, caring for those in need and the disenfranchised. Her full time employment was caring for the mentally challenged.  These precious ones were often viewed as unfit, unlovable and unwanted. Catherine saw the jewel in these precious souls, oftentimes bringing them into her home for a weekend get-away, providing food, shelter, clothing and lots of fun.

A single mother of four girls, Catherine raised her daughters to have the same loving, caring spirit of giving.  Many sacrifices were made by this amazing woman, oftentimes foregoing her own personal needs, in unselfish attempts at breaking down barriers for others.   Without even a whisper of murmuring, she just wanted to see a smile on the face of the recipient. Often asked why she did what she did, she would say, “I just love helping people and I love pretty things.”  In her giving she would always give her best. Her comment would always be, “never give someone something you wouldn’t want for yourself.” If she were living today giving would still be her first choice.

The Catherine project has presented monetary awards to the various organizations: Disabled American Women Veteran (Hampton Chapter #6), Nursing CAP (An introductory nursing and healthcare careers program for ages 11-18 that provides year-round mentoring, tutoring, and career development services), Academic Scholarship Awards for inbound college students, Forget Me Not Organization (An outreach to the homeless), Community Outreaches and a Lymphedema recipient with ongoing special needs.

So that we may continue to be a blessing to the community with our annual financial seed, we ask that you prayerfully consider donating a love seed into The Catherine Project. Seeds can be sown by CashApp ($womenofdestinyva) or Zelle: womenofdestinyva@gmail.com
